Job Description:

Nomios GmbH is seeking a highly experienced and talented Network Engineer with a strong focus on routing and switching to join our esteemed team. As a Network Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex network infrastructures for our large enterprise clients and vendor partners. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of hands-on experience in routing and switching technologies and hold either the Juniper Networks Certified Internet Professional (JNCIP) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification.

Responsibilities:

• Design, configure, and implement robust routing and switching solutions for large enterprise clients and vendor partners.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather network requirements and design scalable and high-performance network architectures.
• Perform network upgrades, migrations, and expansions, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues using analytical skills and in-depth knowledge of routing protocols, switching technologies, and network security.
• Implement and manage network monitoring and performance analysis tools to ensure optimal network performance.
• Conduct network assessments and provide recommendations for network improvements and optimizations.
• Work closely with project managers and stakeholders to deliver network solutions on time and within budget.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior network team members, promoting a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment.
• Keep abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in networking to continually enhance the team's expertise and capabilities.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as a Network Engineer, with a focus on routing and switching.
• Juniper Networks Certified Internet Professional (JNCIP) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification is required.
• Extensive knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), switching technologies (VLAN, STP, VTP), and network security principles.
• Strong experience with configuring and troubleshooting enterprise-level routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Proven ability to design and implement network solutions for large-scale enterprise environments.
• Experience working with vendor partners, such as Cisco or Juniper, is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with clients and team members.
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project specifications.

Preferred qualifications:

• Juniper Networks Certified Internet Expert (JNCIE) or Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) certification.
• Experience with Software Defined Networks (SDN) and network automation tools.
• Knowledge of cloud networks and virtualization technologies.

Job Specifics

• This role is based at our Dortmund office, with flexibility for homeworking for up to 2-3 days per week if needed.
• Flexibility with hours is required in the event of a major incident; the role will also include on-call responsibilities for occasional weekends.
• Some travel should be expected, including overnight stays in DE and occasionally abroad when necessary.
